Question: "How do you get management on the safety bandwagon when you're already doing a great job in terms of low injury numbers?"

Answer: "Determine and focus on what's important to management beyond the cost-savings of injury prevention.

For example, managers might be interested in boosting morale, increasing retention, being a leader in their field, boosting their leadership power, developing receptivity to change, etc. Illustrate how safety helps them reach these and other leadership goals.

Also, show proven methods where very little time invested on the part of managers can lead to significant organizational results. Organizational safety goes beyond injury prevention to system improvements."
